SpineCare Foundation PhD Scholarship 2014
The SpineCare Foundation is offering either a masters (1 year award) or PhD (3 year award) program to a scholar who wishes to complete research to establish an Australian national database on incident cases of spinal cord injury in children; to enable those working in the field to better collaborate on research, treatment and prevention of such conditions. While a national database exists for adults, there is a fragmented collection of information on children across Australia.
The scholarship is available for either one year (Masters) or three years (PhD) in accordance with stipends equivalent to the National Health and Medical Research Council postgraduate scholarships scheme, and will be dependent on the area of study of the selected scholar, ranging from $24,653 - $36,706 per year tax free. The SpineCare Foundation will consider initial enrolment in a Masters course by research with potential future progression to PhD candidature after successful completion of this first year of study.
The SpineCare Foundation can also offer other professional development opportunities to the successful candidate, including the opportunity to become a sitting member of Northcott’s Quality in Research Standing Committee (QiRSC).
The closing date for applications is 5pm Monday 16th December, 2013. Further information for applicants is available in the application information letter and form, per the links below.
